Every holiday season, Serve You Rx runs a Giving Tree donation drive where employees purchase both practical items and holiday gifts for a particular family or cause. For the second year, Serve You Rx chose to rally around Meta House, a rehabilitation center and residential facility located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for mothers struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. Meta House is unique because it allows children to live with their mothers while they receive treatment and rebuild their lives.
Serve You Rx representatives have participated in many national efforts that aim to combat opioid misuse, including promoting National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day and sponsoring several advocacy events, such as CARA Family Day in Washington, D.C. and the National Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit in Atlanta, Georgia. By supporting Meta House with our holiday donation drive, Serve You Rx hopes to help better the lives of those in our own community who are trying to overcome addiction.
This year, Serve You Rx focused on purchasing items from the children’s wish list, including arts and crafts, sports equipment, board games, clothing and accessories, toys, and more. Additionally, our staff members bought gifts for the women in treatment; items for the facility, such as sheets and vacuum cleaners; and baby supplies, such as diapers and bottles. Serve You Rx also donated nicotine patches for women who are trying to quit smoking.
Serve You Rx representatives dropped off their donations on December 15, allowing ample time for Meta House employees to sort through and wrap the items to give as gifts to the residents and their children. Find out how you can donate to Meta House by clicking here.
