- A Formulary is a list of preferred or covered drugs.
- Formularies generally provide a co-payment or co-insurance incentive for members to use low-cost generic drugs whenever possible.
- Serve You offers formularies that meet the diverse plan design needs of our groups including a 2-Tier Open Formulary and a 3-Tier Managed Formulary.
- The drugs contained on both Serve You Formularies are managed by the Wellpoint NextRx Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee.
- The P&T Committee:
- Is comprised of physicians and pharmacists, including a Serve You pharmacist
- Meets quarterly to review therapeutic drug classes and new drugs as they are introduced into the market.
