- Recognizing that selected drugs are priced the same per unit regardless of strength, Dose Optimization is a program that targets members taking drugs twice daily that could be taking a larger dose (an optimized dose) one time daily at a reduced cost.
- All drugs subject to a dose optimization edit have been reviewed and approved by the P&T committee. The P&T Committee (Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee) consists of physicians and pharmacists who review therapeutic categories within the formulary quarterly.
